Marmaris Castle and Museum

MARMARIS CASTLE
Marmaris Castle and Museum is located in the center of the old city of Marmaris, on a hill behind the port of Marmaris. It became an archaeological museum after its restoration in 1990 to include seven internal areas and many archaeological and artistic exhibits dating back to the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine eras, including jewelry, coins, textiles, carpets, copper, kitchen utensils, weapons, and many others.

Marmaris Castle is one of the oldest castles and historical landmarks in the city, built by the Greeks in 1044 BC. The castle is decorated with windows, watchtowers and terraces that help you enjoy stunning panoramic views of the coast and the surrounding gardens. Near the castle, there are many distinguished cafés and restaurants that serve grills, fish and fresh local products.
