The Red Tower

KIZILKULE ALANYA

The Red Tower is a historical tower, located in the center of Alanya, and is considered a symbol of the city today. The Red Tower was built at the beginning of the reign of the Anatolian Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad The First, and its construction was completed in 1226.

It also derives its name from the use of red stones in its construction, which is why it is called the Red Tower.

In the past, it was used as a headquarters for building and producing ships and for monitoring the coast. The deck is accessed via a staircase consisting of 85 steps, with a height of 13 meters. The tower contains a water tank inside it to meet its special needs.
